Three Bikone ranges for three different priorities
The differences are bearing type, cup design, weight and price. Correct compatibility and careful installation remain essential to a dependable build.
The practical choice
DCTech steel
Precision steel bearings, carefully designed cups and reliable sealing. A strong option for frequent riding, replacing a worn bottom bracket and keeping the budget under control. Often our pick for Shimano BB86 / 24 mm.
Hybrid ceramic bearings and a construction focused on smooth running and accurate installation. A premium choice for demanding road and gravel builds, without paying extra for the UAE finish.
WorldTour-inspired refinements in weight and finish: the blue BSA Aero, the limited 2026 TDF Gold and the more specialised T47 PowerSet. Made for carefully selected high-end builds.

We do not claim a measured watt saving between two correctly fitted, new bottom brackets. Real friction depends on load, lubrication, seals, alignment and installation quality.
BIKONE ENGINEERING
What makes Bikone different beyond bearing material
Bikone draws on bearing expertise from Fersa. DCTech engineering combines cup geometry, bearing protection and installation tolerances. That is why the complete assembly matters, rather than judging a bottom bracket simply by whether its balls are steel or ceramic.
DualCupTech: accurate bearing location
The cups are designed to locate and guide the bearings precisely. Careful installation and a frame within the correct tolerances are still essential for quiet operation.
Sealing and protection
Radial and axial seals, along with other protective interfaces, help reduce contamination from water and dirt. Longevity also depends on riding conditions and maintenance.
Steel or hybrid ceramic
Steel bearings are sensible for high-mileage use at a controlled cost. Hybrid ceramic bearings combine ceramic balls with metal races; their efficiency depends on the complete system, including seals and lubricant.
RANGE 01 · PRECISION AT A FAIR PRICE
BIKONE DCTech steel: a dependable upgrade without overspending
DCTech steel covers common standards and less familiar frame interfaces. Cup construction, sealing and bearing guidance are central to its design. For bikes that see frequent mileage, this is often the most sensible investment.
BB86 41/24: a strong option for Shimano 105, Ultegra, Dura-Ace and compatible Rotor 24 mm cranksets.
BSA 68 mm: straightforward threaded installation with dedicated 24, DUB and 30 mm options.
T47, BBRight, BB386 and others: solutions for more specific builds.

RANGE 02 · PREMIUM PERFORMANCE
BIKONE DCTech ceramic: premium engineering for demanding builds
Velo-Perso photo: Bikone BB86 ceramic bottom bracket, 98 g measured on our scale.
The ceramic range uses hybrid ceramic bearings and machined cups. We recommend it for already well-equipped bikes, where accurate fit, mechanical quality and consistent smoothness are the priority.
BB86 Shimano 41/24: a premium replacement for original press-fit units.
BSA Shimano / Rotor 24 mm: classic 68 mm threaded road fitment with convenient servicing access.
SRAM DUB and Rotor 30 mm: always select the exact frame and spindle combination.
The blue BSA Aero uses 7075-T6 aluminium cups, hybrid ceramic bearings and a smooth outer “Aero Cup” with hidden tool engagement. The design reduces weight and refines integration around the bottom bracket area. Any aerodynamic benefit is expected to be very small and has not been quantified by Velo-Perso.

The 2026 TDF Gold edition uses the BSA Aero architecture with an exclusive commemorative gold finish. Hybrid ceramic bearings, 7075-T6 cups, 24 mm spindle, 68 mm road BSA thread and installation accessories are included. It is designed for exceptional bike builds and riders who value fine components.
These photographs show the 2026 TDF Gold release and the accessories supplied with this edition.
The blue UAE T47 PowerSet addresses compatible T47 installations. It is not interchangeable with BSA or every internal, external or asymmetric T47 configuration. It mainly appeals to owners of the corresponding frames; DCTech steel and ceramic are the natural options for most other setups.

FRAME + CRANKSET
Start with the frame standard and crank spindle diameter
A Shimano-compatible bottom bracket does not automatically fit every BB86, BSA or T47 frame. Check both parts of the system, plus required spacers and the bike generation.
Typical spindles: 24 mm for Shimano and some Rotor cranks; 28.99 mm (DUB) for SRAM and selected other cranks; 30 mm for several Rotor and other cranksets. Wide variants and spacer setups also matter. Do not select a bottom bracket by groupset name alone.
We photograph product details, packaging and components on our own scale whenever possible. These photos let you see the actual item and distinguish manufacturer figures from measured weights.

Compatibility guides and related bottom bracket categories
Start with your bike model, frame standard or crank spindle diameter. These links make it easy to compare Bikone choices with other compatible products in the Velo-Perso catalogue.
DCTech steel prioritises value, reliability and regular mileage. DCTech ceramic is aimed at more premium builds, with hybrid ceramic bearings. The best choice still depends on your frame standard and riding conditions.
Do UAE bottom brackets save many watts?
No. Any gain is marginal. The BSA Aero UAE focuses on construction quality, low weight and the smooth Aero Cup finish. We have no independently measured aerodynamic watt saving to quote.
What is the difference between blue UAE Aero and 2026 TDF Gold?
The 2026 TDF Gold uses the BSA Aero technology with a commemorative gold finish and collector presentation. Both are designed for compatible 68 mm BSA road frames and 24 mm spindles. The 2026 Gold differs from the 2025 limited release.
Which Bikone fits Shimano 105, Ultegra or Dura-Ace?
For Shimano Hollowtech II 24 mm cranks, choose the bracket matching your frame: for example BSA 68/24 or BB86 41/24. Steel is particularly sensible for 105; ceramic can suit a premium Ultegra or Dura-Ace build but is not required.
Will a UAE BSA model fit SRAM DUB?
No. The BSA UAE Aero and 2026 TDF Gold models featured here use a 24 mm spindle interface, while SRAM DUB spindles are approximately 28.99 mm. Choose a compatible BSA DUB model instead.
Are BB86 and BB92 the same?
Both belong to the Ø41 mm PressFit family, but shell width and intended use differ: approximately 86.5 mm for road BB86 and 92 mm for many MTB frames. Check the crank spindle and spacers too.
Does the UAE T47 PowerSet fit every T47 frame?
No. T47 internal, external and T47A configurations require different shell widths and cup positions. The exact frame geometry must match the selected product.
Why are there two different BSA Aero UAE weights?
Bikone claims 77 g. The unit pictured by Velo-Perso registered 79 g on our scale. We distinguish the manufacturer figure from the in-house measurement.
Is a ceramic bottom bracket maintenance-free?
No. Ceramic bottom brackets still need correct installation, effective sealing and routine inspection. Avoid spraying bearing seals with a high-pressure washer and check for play, noise or water ingress.
How can I confirm compatibility with my bike?
Identify your frame model and year, exact bottom bracket shell and the spindle diameter of the crankset actually fitted. Use the Velo-Perso Bottom Bracket Finder or ask for a compatibility check before ordering.
