Which bottom bracket to choose with the Rotor Vegast Direct Mount 2025 12-speed crankset?
The Rotor Vegast Direct Mount 2025 is available with two axle standards: 24 mm or 30 mm. The bottom bracket recommendations are the same as for the Rotor Vegast 12-speed crankset with chainrings, since the technical requirements are identical.
With a 24 mm axle, installation is quick and easy if you already have a Shimano bottom bracket. If you wish to upgrade for improved performance or replace a worn unit, here are two recommended models in the same price range as the crankset:
- BB86 frames (Canyon, Scott, Giant, Bianchi…): BB86 Shimano – Bikone steel
- BSA frames (Tarmac SL7/SL8, Aethos, Colnago V5RS/Y1RS, Supersix 2023…): BSA Shimano – Bikone steel
With a 30 mm axle, you will need to replace your bottom bracket. This version offers better efficiency and is 50g lighter than the 24 mm setup. Here are our performance-oriented recommendations:
