A real track crankset, built for powerful accelerations

The ROTOR VEGAST Track crankset is designed for track racing and high-end fixed gear builds. It combines forged aluminium crank arms, a dedicated short 30 mm Track axle and a 144 BCD 5-bolt track spider in a robust, rigid and highly configurable package.

With its narrow 140 mm Q-factor and 43 mm chainline, the VEGAST Track keeps the geometry expected from a true track crankset while providing the stiffness required for repeated hard accelerations, standing starts and high-torque fixed gear riding.

What is included?

This configurable crankset always includes:

• ROTOR VEGAST crank arms
• ROTOR Track30 30 mm axle
• 144 BCD 5-bolt track spider
• Required crankset hardware

Depending on the option selected above, the crankset can be supplied with or without the ROTOR BSA Track bottom bracket. The Track bottom bracket is specifically designed for ROTOR's short track axle.

BSA Track bottom bracket option

ROTOR Track cranksets use a shorter axle than standard road 30 mm cranksets. If your track or fixed gear frame uses a conventional threaded BSA bottom bracket shell, select the dedicated ROTOR BSA Track bottom bracket from the menu.

Forged aluminium: the heart of ROTOR engineering

Aluminium machining has always been one of ROTOR's core areas of expertise. The VEGAST crank arms are manufactured from forged 6082-T6 aluminium and finished using CNC machining to achieve an excellent balance between stiffness, durability and weight.

ROTOR's Trinity Drilling System removes material from carefully selected internal areas of the crank arms while retaining material where structural stiffness is required. The result is a particularly robust crankset capable of handling the repeated high-torque efforts characteristic of track cycling.

Designed for track racers and performance fixed gear builds

The VEGAST Track is particularly well suited to young racers, club riders and regional-level track competitors looking for a crankset that can withstand repeated accelerations well above 1,000 watts without the excessive flex often found on entry-level track cranksets.

It is also an excellent choice for a high-end fixed gear bike, where high torque, out-of-the-saddle accelerations and direct drivetrain response place considerable loads on the crank arms.

Crankset weight

ROTOR VEGAST crank arm weight varies depending on crank length. The Track30 axle and spider add approximately 207 g measured by Velo-Perso.

Chainring sold separately

The crankset is supplied without a chainring. Complete your setup with a ROTOR NoQ Track 144 BCD chainring .

The 144 mm BCD spider follows the standard track 5-bolt pattern and is therefore normally compatible with other conventional 144 BCD track chainrings.

Chainring weights are indicative and may vary slightly between production batches.

VEGAST or ALDHU Track?

For most track riders, the VEGAST aluminium crankset provides more than enough stiffness. Its forged construction is particularly well suited to repeated high-power accelerations and makes it an excellent choice for training and competition.

Riders producing exceptionally high sprint power, particularly specialist track sprinters repeatedly exceeding approximately 1,500 watts, may prefer the higher-end ROTOR ALDHU Track. Its CNC-machined 7075-T6 aerospace-grade aluminium construction pushes the stiffness-to-weight ratio even further.

Entry-level track and fixed gear cranksets are very often too flexible. The VEGAST Track is not the lightest crankset in our range, but it offers a particularly convincing combination of controlled weight, exceptional durability and very high stiffness. On the track, this is exactly what is needed when the drivetrain has to withstand repeated efforts above 1,000 watts. On a fixed gear bike, its rigidity is equally impressive during high-torque accelerations: the crank arms remain remarkably stable instead of wasting part of the rider's effort through unwanted flex.
