CyclingCeramic bearing dimensions and reference chart

Read the marking on your old bearing or measure it with a caliper: inner diameter × outer diameter × width. The table also lists common reference equivalents and the EAN for each model.

Where are individual bike bearings used?

These bearings can be used for targeted repairs when the original specification is respected. A wheel or bicycle brand name alone is not enough to identify a bearing.

Road, gravel and MTB wheel hubs

Front and rear hub bearings handle weather exposure and riding loads. Common sizes across various designs include 6802 / 61802, 6803 / 61803, 6902 and 6903. Always identify the bearing actually fitted.

Freehub bodies

A freehub body may use a different bearing size from the hub shell. Identify each bearing separately and check seals, sleeves and spacers.

Pedals, jockey wheels and small pulleys

Compact references such as 626, 607 and 688 may fit selected designs. Many pedals and pulleys use proprietary parts, so matching dimensions are not always sufficient.

Bottom brackets

6805 (25 × 37 × 7 mm) and 6806 (30 × 42 × 7 mm) are used in some designs. Do not order based solely on a BB30, PF30 or T47 label: confirm the bearing type and complete assembly.

Why choose CyclingCeramic?

CyclingCeramic bearings feature precision ceramic balls (grade 3 according to the manufacturer), low-friction seals and careful assembly in France. They come pre-greased, ready for installation where their specifications match the component.

Buying an individual bearing means replacing only the worn part. Correct fit, sealing and maintenance matter just as much as the ball material: poor installation can negate any friction advantage.

How to identify and replace a bicycle bearing

1. Read the marking

Look for 6803, 61803, 6902, MR15267 or another code on the race or seal. Take a photo of any suffix such as 2RS.

2. Measure all three dimensions

Measure the bore, outside diameter and width. A 6902 is 15 × 28 × 7 mm; a 15267 is 15 × 26 × 7 mm. They are not interchangeable.

3. Press it in correctly

Use the right puller and bearing press. Apply force to the outer race when pressing into a housing, and to the inner race when fitting on a shaft, never through the ceramic balls.

After installation, check for smooth rotation, play and correct preload. If the bearing binds after tightening, inspect spacers, alignment and bearing specification.

One bearing, two bearings or four?

Replacing just one bearing is perfectly reasonable if the others remain in good condition. Choose two when your hub uses two identical bearings, or four only if all four positions use the same reference. For a full wheel overhaul, verify every position before ordering.

Care and lubrication for long-term performance

Clean parts carefully during servicing, avoid pressure washing and use suitable lubrication. CyclingCeramic blue grease is suited to everyday road use; very low-friction TT grease generally calls for closer maintenance.

Frequently asked questions about ceramic bike bearings

Are 6802 and 61802 the same size?

Yes, both identify the nominal 15 × 24 × 5 mm size. Also check the seal construction and original bearing specification.

Are 6803 and 61803 equivalent?

Both identify a nominal 17 × 26 × 5 mm size. A 6903 is different: 17 × 30 × 7 mm.

What are the dimensions of a 6902 bearing?

15 × 28 × 7 mm, also referred to as 61902 in some catalogues.

What are the dimensions of a 6903 bearing?

17 × 30 × 7 mm, sometimes referred to as 61903.

What is the difference between 608 and 608-9?

A 608 measures 8 × 22 × 7 mm; a 608-9 measures 9 × 22 × 7 mm, with a bore 1 mm larger.

How is a 6902 different from a 15267 bearing?

Both have a 15 mm bore and 7 mm width, but the outer diameter is 28 mm for 6902 and 26 mm for 15267.

What does 2RS mean on a bearing?

It usually means two elastomer seals, one on each side. It does not mean that a bearing is waterproof under pressure.

Can I replace a steel bearing with a ceramic bearing?

Often yes, if dimensions and mechanical requirements match. Check bearing design, seals, internal clearance and manufacturer recommendations.

Do 6805 and 6806 fit every 30 mm bottom bracket?

No. A 6805 is 25 × 37 × 7 mm; a 6806 is 30 × 42 × 7 mm. Some bottom brackets require angular-contact or other specific bearings.

What if my bearing reference is unreadable?

Measure the inner diameter, outer diameter and width with a caliper, compare the size chart and check the component documentation for bearing type.

Should I replace every bearing in my hub?

Not always. Replacing only a worn bearing is possible if the others remain sound. For a full overhaul, check the reference of every position.

Are CyclingCeramic bearings supplied with grease?

Yes, they are prepared and pre-greased. Additional grease and cleaner are sold separately.
