Forged and CNC-machined aluminium cranks, carbon arms, round and oval chainrings, power meters: ROTOR lets you upgrade each component separately. In 2026, that modular system remains a compelling reason to choose the brand.
ROTOR designs and machines precise, durable and lightweight drivetrain components. Aluminium engineering remains central to its expertise, with ALDHU Carbon arms extending the range for weight-focused builds.
Its direct-mount system separates the crank arms, spindle, spider or power meter, and chainrings. This architecture helped set a direction that other brands have since followed. You can replace individual parts or upgrade your setup, provided the interfaces are compatible.
Compatibility depends on Rotor generation, spindle, mounting interface, chainline and drivetrain. Rotor parts are not universally interchangeable.

We recommend this rechargeable power meter to riders who want accurate total-power data, pedalling analysis and the flexibility to retain compatible Rotor crank arms.
With the power meter spider priced at around €350 (check the current product price), INspider 2.0 measures combined left- and right-leg power at the spider and provides cadence, estimated left/right balance, power-phase information, OCA/OCP data to help adjust Rotor Q-Rings, pedalling analysis and ANT+ / Bluetooth connectivity. Availability of advanced metrics depends on the head unit and app.
The same sensor can be used with compatible VEGAST, ALDHU and ALDHU Carbon crank arms. The road version accepts chainrings using the 110 × 4 BCD pattern.

We used INspider V1 for several years, followed by INspider 2.0 throughout the 2025 season. The two generations gave consistent power readings, including during hard sprints around 1,500–1,600 W. V2's main improvements are weight, battery life, housing design and waterproofing.
Connection advice: we recommend ANT+ for outdoor head units. In our road tests Bluetooth was less stable, although it remains useful for compatible apps and indoor training. Advanced metric support varies by device.

View INspider spider →A strong, affordable complete crankset for measured training, road racing and sportives.
View VEGAST INspider →Choose CNC-machined aluminium or carbon crank arms without giving up Rotor's modular design.
View ALDHU INspider →Choose according to budget, target weight, crank length and whether you intend to add a power meter later.

VEGAST combines forged aluminium durability, an accessible price and upgrade potential. Road versions are available with 24 or 30 mm spindles depending on the configuration.

ALDHU provides a wide selection of crank lengths and gearing with precision CNC-machined aluminium crank arms. Choose from 24 or 30 mm spindle options in compatible builds.

ALDHU Carbon reduces crank weight while retaining a wide chainring choice. Carbon arms and a 30 mm spindle work in light climbing builds or complete INspider 2.0 power-meter cranksets.
| Your priority | Our pick | Reason |
|---|---|---|
| Keep the price down | VEGAST | Strong value and straightforward upgrade options. |
| More crank lengths and premium alloy machining | ALDHU | CNC arms and multiple configurations. |
| Reduce bike weight | ALDHU Carbon | Carbon arms with 30 mm spindle. |
| Train with detailed power data | + INspider 2.0 | Rechargeable, modular spider-based power meter. |

ROTOR chainrings combine accurate machining, a wide gearing range and several mounting standards. Start with crankset and chain compatibility, then choose tooth count and round or oval shape.
A dependable choice for regular riding, accelerations, sprinting and easy drivetrain setup.
Shop round chainrings →Worth considering if you want a different pedal feel for steady efforts or climbing.
Shop Q-Rings →For compatible Rotor direct-mount cranks: compact integrated spider and chainrings.
Shop Spiderings →Tooth counts cover compact climbing gearing through to large TT chainrings. Always check matched inner/outer rings, chain and front derailleur compatibility.
The track range uses the dedicated ROTOR Track30 architecture, with a short 30 mm spindle, 144 mm BCD five-arm spider, approximately 140 mm Q-factor and a 43 mm chainline in the configurations offered by Velo-Perso.
Young track riders can change crank length as they grow; racers can swap chainrings to match the event. Track30 is a specific track standard: do not confuse it with a standard 30 mm road axle.

The sensor is housed in the crank axle. It measures left-leg effort and extrapolates total power, offering an accessible route into structured training with watts.
Explore INpower cranksets →2INpower measures both legs separately. It suits riders who want detailed bilateral analysis for training, technique and performance tracking.
Explore 2INpower cranksets →Our first recommendation for most road riders remains INspider 2.0: total power, rechargeable battery, modularity and broad compatibility. INpower focuses on cost; 2INpower measures each leg separately.
| Check | What matters | Our advice |
|---|---|---|
| Frame / bottom bracket | BSA, BB86, T47, BB386, BBRight and other standards | Confirm the frame's BB shell and correct bearing cups. |
| Spindle | 24 mm or 30 mm; Standard or Offset axle length | 24 mm can simplify some Shimano-style setups; verify BB and clearance for 30 mm. |
| Drivetrain | Shimano 11/12-speed, SRAM AXS and others | Choose chainrings explicitly compatible with your chain and drivetrain; BCD alone is insufficient. |
| Discipline | Road, gravel, track, TT, 1x | Check chainline, spider, gearing and ring type. |
| Crank length | 150 to 175 mm in selected Rotor ranges | Available lengths differ between cranksets and generations. |
Velo-Perso has supplied specialist cycling components since 2009. We photograph real builds, weigh components and ride with the power meters we recommend. Our tests of multiple Rotor crankset generations, INspider V1 and INspider V2 cover reliability, gearing, fit, power measurements and upgrade paths.
We help match crank length, spindle and bottom bracket to your bike.
Measured weights, road miles, sprint efforts and rider feedback.
Choose arms, spindle, spider and rings to keep future options open.

Yes. The current INspider ROAD units in our selection are version 2.0. V1 has been removed from our current selection. Check the model designation and product page when ordering.
No. INspider measures total power at the spider and estimates left/right balance. For true independent measurements from both legs, choose Rotor 2INpower.
Yes, with compatible Rotor arms and mounting interfaces, including selected VEGAST, ALDHU and ALDHU Carbon builds. Check the generation, spindle, spider and chainrings before ordering.
Yes, in selected configurations. Compatibility depends mainly on the chainrings and chain. Matching BCD dimensions alone do not guarantee drivetrain compatibility.
A 24 mm spindle can simplify installation on some bikes already fitted with Shimano-compatible bottom brackets. A 30 mm spindle allows light, stiff builds, but requires checking the BB standard, bearings, spacers and frame clearance.
No. Some riders prefer them for climbing and steady efforts; others favour round rings, especially for sprinting. Choose based on how you ride, the crankset and the available OCP adjustment.
We recommend VEGAST Track for versatile club use and value, ALDHU Track for sprinting and high peak power, and ALDHU Carbon Track for pursuit. These builds require the correct Track30 spindle and a 144 mm BCD track spider.
INpower measures left-leg power and extrapolates the total. INspider measures total power at the spider and estimates left/right balance. 2INpower measures each leg independently. For most road use, we favour INspider 2.0 for its features, value and modularity.
Both are supported. ANT+ was more reliable in our outdoor testing, so we recommend it for road head units. Bluetooth remains useful for compatible apps and indoor training.
Choose VEGAST, ALDHU or ALDHU Carbon crank arms, your preferred chainrings and an INspider 2.0 power meter if needed. We help you check compatibility before you buy.
