ROTOR ALDHU TRACK

The ROTOR track crankset built for power, cadence and long-term evolution

The ROTOR ALDHU Track is the natural choice for track riders looking for a crankset combining stiffness, low weight and extensive configurability. Its CNC-machined aerospace-grade 7075-T6 aluminium crank arms are paired with a short 30 mm Track30 axle and a 144 BCD 5-bolt track spider.

One of its major advantages is the exceptionally wide range of crank lengths available, from 150 to 175 mm. This allows riders to optimise cadence at high power, while also making the ALDHU particularly attractive for young track cyclists looking for a crankset that can evolve as they grow.

What is included?

Whatever configuration you select, the crankset includes:

  • ROTOR ALDHU crank arms in CNC-machined 7075-T6 aluminium;
  • the short ROTOR Track30 30 mm axle;
  • the 144 BCD 5-bolt track spider;
  • the required crankset hardware.

The drop-down menu allows you to order the crankset with or without the ROTOR BSA Track bottom bracket. BSA is the dedicated track bottom bracket option available for this short ROTOR axle.

A Track30 axle specifically designed for track use

The ROTOR Track30 axle is shorter than a standard 30 mm road axle. This allows the crankset to achieve a 140 mm Q-factor and a 43 mm chainline, dimensions suited to track bike geometry. For a threaded BSA frame, select the dedicated ROTOR BSA Track bottom bracket from the options.

CNC-machined 7075-T6 aluminium: ROTOR expertise at its best

The ALDHU directly reflects ROTOR's long-standing expertise in aluminium machining. Unlike the VEGAST, which uses forged 6082-T6 aluminium, ALDHU crank arms are made from aerospace-grade 7075-T6 aluminium and extensively CNC machined.

This alloy offers excellent mechanical properties and allows ROTOR to reduce weight while maintaining very high stiffness. The ALDHU is therefore particularly well suited to disciplines where crankset loads become extreme: standing starts, explosive accelerations, sprint, keirin, kilometre events and races involving repeated changes of pace.

From 150 to 175 mm: exceptional crank length choice for track cycling

Track cycling is one of the disciplines where short crank arms can be particularly relevant. At high power and very high cadence, shorter crank arms can help support higher pedalling speeds and improve leg clearance at extreme cadences.

The ALDHU is available in 150, 155, 160, 165, 167.5, 170, 172.5 and 175 mm. This makes it possible to fine-tune the crankset according to rider morphology, cadence requirements and track discipline.

It is also a particularly attractive solution for young track riders. A junior rider can start with a shorter crank length suited to their current size, then replace only the crank arms as they grow. Likewise, chainring size can be changed as the rider develops without replacing the complete crankset.

Crank length availability

The 150, 155, 160, 165, 170, 172.5 and 175 mm lengths are normally available within 48 hours. The 167.5 mm version is available to order, with an indicative lead time of around 8 weeks.

Built for very high power

The ALDHU Track comes into its own when power outputs become extreme. Its CNC-machined 7075-T6 aluminium construction delivers a very direct response during starts, sprints and full-power accelerations.

We have received excellent feedback from track riders capable of approaching 2,000 watts peak power. This makes the ALDHU entirely consistent with the demands of elite-level competition, while remaining highly relevant for club riders looking for a durable, high-performance and fully upgradeable crankset.

ROTOR ALDHU Track weight by crank length

Crank arm weight naturally varies with length. We add 207 g for the Track30 axle + spider assembly in order to provide an approximate real-world crankset weight before fitting the chainring.

Crank length Crank arms Axle + spider Approx. total*
150 mm 316 g 207 g 523 g
155 mm 321 g 207 g 528 g
160 mm 327 g 207 g 534 g
165 mm 334 g 207 g 541 g
167.5 mm 345 g 207 g 552 g
170 mm 350 g 207 g 557 g
172.5 mm 352 g 207 g 559 g
175 mm 358 g 207 g 565 g

*Without chainring or bottom bracket. Small variations may occur depending on hardware and production tolerances.

Chainring sold separately

The crankset is supplied without a chainring. Complete your setup with a ROTOR NoQ Track 144 BCD chainring .

The ALDHU spider uses the standard 144 BCD 5-bolt track pattern. It is therefore normally compatible with other track chainrings using the same standard.

Weight with ROTOR Track chainrings

Example below with 165 mm ALDHU crank arms: 334 g crank arms + 207 g axle and spider, giving 541 g before adding the chainring.

Which track disciplines suit the ALDHU best?

Sprint
Particularly well suited to high peak power and maximum-effort accelerations.
Keirin / direct racing
High stiffness and robust aluminium construction suit repeated accelerations and sudden changes of pace.
500 m / Kilometre
An excellent match for very high power, high cadence and direct drivetrain response.
Pursuit
The ALDHU performs very well, but we generally prefer the ALDHU Carbon when low weight and stiffness balance become the priority.
Velo-Perso's take

For us, the ALDHU is ROTOR's reference aluminium track crankset when power levels become very high. We have received excellent feedback from track riders producing close to 2,000 watts. The response of the CNC-machined 7075-T6 aluminium crank arms is particularly direct during standing starts, explosive accelerations and maximum-effort sprints.

We also value its durability. Track crashes can be spectacular, especially in direct-contact racing disciplines, and the aluminium construction of the ALDHU makes it, in our view, a particularly relevant choice when resistance to hard use matters as much as performance.

For pursuit and sustained efforts lasting several minutes, however, we tend to prefer the ALDHU Carbon: its lower weight provides a particularly attractive balance between stiffness and lightness.

Which ROTOR Track crankset should you choose?
