ALUGEAR AERO Shimano 12-speed outer chainring – 48 to 56T
The ALUGEAR AERO 2x12 outer chainring lets you keep your Shimano 105 R7100, Ultegra R8100 or Dura-Ace R9200 crankset while choosing a different gearing option and a distinctive finish. This Velo-Perso product page is offered in black only, with 48, 50, 52, 54 or 56 teeth.
CNC-machined from 7075-T6 aluminium, it uses the Shimano road 110 mm asymmetric 4-bolt BCD. Its tooth profile, ramps and shift aids are designed for 12-speed double-chainring operation.
Important: this is a 2x outer chainring, not a 1x chainring. ALUGEAR guarantees correct double-chainring operation when the matching ALUGEAR outer and inner chainrings are used together.

The 48T version is particularly useful for building a 48/34 setup around a Shimano 12-speed crankset. At the other end of the range, 54T and 56T options suit riders looking for taller gearing for speed, time trials or very fast courses. When making a significant change in outer-ring size, check front derailleur height and adjustment as well as frame clearance.

Can I use it in a 1x drivetrain?
No. This model is the outer chainring of a 2x drivetrain. For a 1x setup, choose an ALUGEAR single chainring with a dedicated tooth profile.
Do I need to adjust the front derailleur after installation?
