ROTOR ALDHU CARBON TRACK
Our first choice for a pursuit track crankset
The ROTOR ALDHU Carbon Track combines HM carbon fibre crank arms with ROTOR's short 30 mm Track30 axle and a 144 BCD 5-bolt track spider. The result is an extremely light, stiff and modular track crankset, particularly well suited to disciplines requiring rapid acceleration followed by several minutes of sustained high power.
If we were building a crankset specifically for individual pursuit or team pursuit, the ALDHU Carbon would be our first choice: its low weight helps the bike accelerate quickly, its stiffness supports high power output, and its carbon crank arms provide a particularly refined pedalling feel on the track.

What is included?
Whatever configuration you select, the crankset includes:
- ROTOR ALDHU Carbon crank arms;
- the short ROTOR Track30 30 mm axle;
- the 144 BCD 5-bolt track spider;
- the chainring bolts.
The drop-down menu allows you to order the crankset with or without the ROTOR BSA Track bottom bracket. The chainring is sold separately, allowing you to choose the exact gearing best suited to your event and riding style.
Track30 axle: geometry genuinely designed for track cycling
The ROTOR Track30 axle is shorter than a standard 30 mm road axle. Together with the dedicated track spider, it provides a 140 mm Q-factor and a 43 mm chainline. For frames with a threaded BSA bottom bracket shell, simply select the ROTOR BSA Track bottom bracket from the available options.
HM Carbon crank arms: around 260 g
ALDHU Carbon crank arms are manufactured from HM carbon fibre. Depending on crank length, the pair weighs only around 255 to 263 g, offering a significant weight saving compared with the aluminium ALDHU crank arms.
ROTOR pairs these crank arms exclusively with its 30 mm axles. The Twin Leg Technology interface securely connects both crank arms to the axle, creating a light assembly while maintaining direct power transfer.
On the track, carbon also provides a different feel from aluminium: it helps filter small vibrations and surface irregularities. During long, high-intensity efforts, this smoother pedalling sensation can be particularly appreciated.
Why the ALDHU Carbon is our choice for pursuit
Pursuit requires a very specific combination: rapid initial acceleration, high power and sustained cadence for several minutes. The balance between weight, stiffness and dynamic behaviour therefore becomes particularly important.
With crank arms + axle + spider weighing only around 462 to 470 g depending on crank length, the ALDHU Carbon keeps overall mass very low while retaining the stiffness required during the acceleration phase.
Its stiffness is fully suited to the high power outputs encountered in pursuit, while the more filtered feel of the carbon crank arms adds comfort when cadence and intensity remain very high for several minutes.
Which disciplines suit the ALDHU Carbon Track?
Individual pursuit
Our first choice: very low weight, high stiffness and excellent performance
during intense efforts lasting several minutes.
Team pursuit
Ideal when every acceleration matters and the crankset must remain efficient
at very high cadence.
Track endurance
An excellent weight-to-stiffness compromise for events combining speed,
repeated accelerations and sustained effort.
Sprint / Keirin / Kilometre
Very capable, but for extreme peak power and disciplines with a greater crash risk,
we generally prefer the aluminium ALDHU.

ROTOR ALDHU Carbon Track weight by crank length
The crank arm weights below are ROTOR figures. We add 207 g for the Track30 axle + spider + chainring bolts to provide a realistic approximate crankset weight before fitting the chainring.
| Crank length | Crank arms | Track30 + spider + bolts | Approx. total* | Availability |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 155 mm | 255 g | 207 g | 462 g | Last units |
| 165 mm | 257 g | 207 g | 464 g | Sold out |
| 170 mm | 259 g | 207 g | 466 g | In stock |
| 172.5 mm | 261 g | 207 g | 468 g | In stock |
| 175 mm | 263 g | 207 g | 470 g | In stock |
*Without chainring or bottom bracket. Small variations may occur due to production tolerances.
Chainring sold separately
The crankset is supplied without a chainring. Complete your setup with a ROTOR NoQ Track 144 BCD chainring from 45 to 56T .
The spider uses the traditional 144 BCD 5-bolt track standard and is therefore normally compatible with other track chainrings using the same standard.
Total weight with a ROTOR Track chainring
Example with the currently available 172.5 mm version: 261 g crank arms + 207 g for the axle, spider and bolts, giving 468 g before adding the chainring.
| Teeth | Chainring weight | Approx. total with 172.5 mm arms* |
|---|---|---|
| 45T | 80 g | 548 g |
| 46T | 85 g | 553 g |
| 47T | 90 g | 558 g |
| 48T | 95 g | 563 g |
| 49T | 100 g | 568 g |
| 50T | 105 g | 573 g |
| 51T | 112 g | 580 g |
| 52T | 117 g | 585 g |
| 53T | 128 g | 596 g |
| 54T | 132 g | 600 g |
| 55T | 140 g | 608 g |
*Without bottom bracket. Indicative weights. A 56T chainring may also be available depending on stock; its weight is not included in the table above.
Velo-Perso's take
If we were building the ideal crankset for individual pursuit or team pursuit, the ALDHU Carbon would currently be our first choice. Its extremely low weight helps the bike accelerate quickly while retaining the stiffness required to sustain very high power for several minutes.
We also particularly appreciate the behaviour of the carbon crank arms on the track: they provide a more filtered pedalling feel over small surface irregularities, which becomes valuable when cadence and intensity remain very high.
For pure sprint, keirin or kilometre events with extreme peak power, we still tend to favour the 7075-T6 aluminium ALDHU. Its metal construction and exceptional robustness make it, in our view, better suited to maximal efforts and disciplines where crash risk is higher.
VEGAST, ALDHU or ALDHU Carbon Track?
| Model | Construction | Main strength | Our preferred use |
|---|---|---|---|
| VEGAST Track | Forged 6082-T6 aluminium | Durability / value | Club racing, regional racing, fixed gear |
| ALDHU Track | CNC-machined 7075-T6 aluminium | Extreme power / durability / crank length choice | Sprint, keirin, kilometre |
| ALDHU Carbon Track | HM carbon fibre | Weight / stiffness / comfort | Individual pursuit / team pursuit |
