Why doesn’t Canyon equip its bikes with ceramic bottom brackets as standard?
Ceramic bottom brackets are expensive to manufacture. Canyon carefully manages costs and sponsors multiple teams. Ceramic bottom brackets are typically found on bikes costing over €10,000. However, we believe it would make sense to install them on performance models priced above €4,000 - €5,000 for better efficiency.
Is a ceramic bottom bracket useful in the mountains?
Yes, even more than on flat terrain! In the mountains, pedaling is continuous, and every watt counts. Saving 2W can make a significant difference in a climb.
