Bikone Assembly Paste for PressFit Parts is a high-performance assembly paste designed to secure the interfaces between the frame and pressed components: PressFit bottom brackets, bearings, headsets, axles and bicycle assemblies exposed to high mechanical loads.
Its PTFE formula makes installation easier, improves long-lasting lubrication and helps reduce the micro-movements responsible for PressFit bottom bracket creaking.

PressFit bottom brackets are well known for creaking, but the source of the noise can sometimes be difficult to identify. Perfectly smooth bearings do not necessarily mean that the bottom bracket is not involved.
The interface between the bottom bracket and the frame plays an essential role: while pedalling, the bottom bracket can move very slightly inside its shell. These micro-movements are enough to create unwanted noise, even with a good-quality bottom bracket.
This Bikone assembly paste helps secure the bottom bracket / frame interface, whatever the frame material — carbon, aluminium or steel — and whatever PressFit bottom bracket model is used. It is a simple, affordable and highly effective product for improving the reliability of an assembly.

1. Clean the frame shell
Degrease and carefully wipe the bottom bracket area to remove dust, old grease and residue.
2. Apply a thin layer of paste
Apply a thin layer of Bikone Assembly Paste to the contact surfaces between the bottom bracket and the frame.
3. Press the bottom bracket with the correct tool
Use a bottom bracket press to insert the cups without forcing them at an angle.
4. Wipe off excess paste
Remove any visible excess with a clean cloth, without removing the paste present in the interface.
5. Install the crankset
Then install the crankset according to the manufacturer’s recommendations.
FAQ – Bikone PressFit Assembly Paste
Should grease be used with a PressFit bottom bracket?
Yes. Lubrication is essential when installing a PressFit bottom bracket. A specific assembly paste is even more suitable than standard grease because it helps stabilise the interface between the bottom bracket and the frame.
What are the advantages of this paste compared with standard grease?
It is designed for pressed assemblies exposed to high mechanical loads. It better limits micro-movements, protects surfaces over time and reduces the risk of creaking while pedalling.
Should the paste be reapplied periodically?
No. Assembly paste is applied when the bottom bracket is installed. It does not need to be reapplied regularly, except when the bottom bracket is removed or replaced.
Can I use it with a Bikone ceramic bottom bracket?
Yes. Bikone steel and ceramic bottom brackets use the same installation principle. What changes is the bearing inside the bottom bracket. The paste is therefore also suitable for ceramic versions.
Can I use this paste with a threaded bottom bracket?
No. We recommend using Bikone grease specifically designed for threaded bottom brackets. The mechanical stresses of a threaded bottom bracket are different from those of a PressFit bottom bracket.
Is this paste suitable for carbon frames?
Yes. It can be used on carbon, aluminium or steel frames, as well as with different types of PressFit bottom brackets.
