Why choose the CyclingCeramic T47/24?
T47 is a large-diameter threaded bottom bracket standard. Unlike PressFit systems, the cups screw into the frame, helping with servicing and replacement when installed correctly. On this IN Cup version, the bearings sit within the width of the frame's shell. Do not confuse it with the external-cup T47 versions typically used on 68 mm-wide frames.

Rather than promising free watts, the real appeal lies in the combination of high-quality bearings, carefully machined cups, sealing and the serviceability of a threaded interface.
Compatibility: check both your frame and crankset
Two things must match: your frame's bottom bracket shell and your crank spindle. A shell width of 86.5 mm alone does not indicate a T47 fit. A BB86 frame has the same nominal width but uses a completely different PressFit interface.

Installation: a dedicated tool, sold separately
The T47 cups screw into the frame. Correct installation requires clean, properly prepared threads, a tool matching the cup interface, and the frame and crank manufacturer's torque and spacer requirements. If in doubt, have the work carried out by an experienced mechanic.

Will this T47/24 bottom bracket fit a Trek 85.5 mm shell?
Yes. CyclingCeramic explicitly lists 85.5 mm Trek T47 shells as compatible with this 86.5 mm internal T47 version. However, the brand name alone does not confirm fit: verify your frame's exact specification and model year.
Does it fit an 86.5 mm BB86 frame?
No. BB86 is a PressFit standard, whereas this bottom bracket requires T47 threads. The nominal shell width may be the same, but the two standards are not interchangeable.
Can I keep my Shimano Ultegra, Dura-Ace, 105 or GRX crankset?
Yes, for compatible 24 mm Hollowtech II versions, provided your crankset and frame configuration match and the installation requirements are met. Rotor ALDHU24 and VEGAST24 may also be used with the correct setup.
What if I use SRAM DUB or a 30 mm Rotor crankset?

Do ceramic bearings deliver a measurable watt saving?
High-quality, correctly lubricated bearings can reduce friction losses, but results depend on seals, load, lubrication and maintenance, as well as the reference bearings used for comparison. No fixed watt gain can be guaranteed for every rider or bike.
