Bikone BB & Bearing Cleaner 500 ml: workshop degreaser for bottom brackets and bearings
Bikone Bottom Bracket & Bearing Cleaner is a water-free hydrocarbon-based technical degreaser designed to quickly remove old grease, oil, dirt and deposits from bicycle mechanical components. It is particularly useful before bearing replacement, relubrication or reassembly.
Unlike Frame Cleaner, which is intended for exterior bike washing, this product is designed for internal mechanical surfaces where a clean, degreased surface is required before lubrication.
Recommended applications
- Bottom brackets and bearing bores.
- Bearings during appropriate service procedures.
- Cranks and removed drivetrain components.
- Headsets, pivots and bare mechanical metal parts.
- Chains and other mechanical parts when appropriate.
How To: clean before bottom-bracket service
- Remove the component and wipe away loose contamination with a clean cloth.
- Apply the cleaner to the mechanical surface.
- Allow it to dissolve grease and deposits, then remove residues with a clean cloth or compressed air.
- Allow the area to dry completely before reassembly or lubrication.
- Relubricate with Bikone Long-Lasting Grease where the interface is a moving/rotating one.
Important advice from Bikone service instructions
In its bearing-replacement procedure, Bikone recommends this cleaner for surface preparation but specifically states: do not apply degreaser to seals. The goal is to clean the mechanical surface without drying out or damaging sealing elements.
