SPATZWEAR 2026 COLLECTION · DEEP WINTER
For the rides winter should not take away from you
Some mornings look manageable on the thermometer, yet your fingers turn numb after a few miles. At 2°C in thick fog, three hours of steady endurance riding mean constant exposure to the oncoming air. The Spatz THRMOZ XTRM are built for precisely those days when ordinary winter gloves are no longer enough.

Full-hand wind cover
THE SPATZ APPROACH
A full-hand wind shield, not just extra padding
The standout feature is a fold-out windproof cover stored in a pocket at the wrist. Deploy it to shield the whole hand, including every finger and the thumb; fold it away to return to the natural feel of a five-finger glove. Rather than relying on bulk alone, Spatz tackles the air moving across your hands as you ride.

THE VELO-PERSO GUIDE
Velo-Perso.com’s view
What makes Spatz outstanding is the intelligence behind the design. At cycling speeds, thermal insulation needs an effective barrier against the air you are riding through. The THRMOZ XTRM take that principle further than any other glove in the range.
We particularly recommend them to riders spending hours outside in winter, riding through fog and damp countryside, or prone to cold fingers. Three hours at 2°C in fog can demand much warmer gloves than one hour at the same temperature in sunshine. A little extra warmth in reserve is far better than numb hands halfway home.
Choosing gloves for winter riding
Temperature
The stated temperature range is a guideline, not a comfort guarantee.
Sunshine or fog
At 2°C, hours in fog can feel much colder than a sunny ride.
Ride duration
At the same temperature, hour two may call for warmer gloves than hour one.
Spatz indicates use down to −8°C, but that is a manufacturer guideline, not a universal comfort guarantee. Ride duration, dampness, wind, effort and individual circulation matter. On a milder day or high-intensity session, XTRM may be too warm.
We recommend owning two pairs for winter: GLOVZ2 Race for cool weather and THRMOZ XTRM for real winter conditions, with THRMOZ2 as an excellent middle option.
FIND YOUR FIT
Spatzwear size guide
Use the official size chart below before choosing your pair. THRMOZ XTRM come in S, M, L and XL. Your gloves should feel secure without squeezing the fingers: allowing some air space helps maintain insulation.

Frequently asked questions
Are THRMOZ XTRM suitable for 2°C?
Yes, they make excellent sense for long rides at 2°C, particularly in fog or wind. Short, sunny sessions may call for lighter gloves.
Are they completely waterproof?
Spatz specifies a waterproof, breathable membrane across the main panels, rather than promising fully sealed waterproof construction.
How do they differ from THRMOZ2?
XTRM use a full-hand wind shield, whereas THRMOZ2 use two fold-out wind-blocking covers. XTRM are the warmest option in the range.
* Spatzwear temperature ranges are indicative. Comfort varies with wind, humidity, riding intensity and individual cold sensitivity.
